Great, Great, Great. If you are a rock hound this is your Valhalla. Beautiful home converted to a fantastic Rock and Mineral Museum. The home itself is worthy of a tour, done in a Southwest style with extensive Myrtle wood accents. But the displays of rocks and minerals are mind-boggling. Specimens from all over the world displayed in educational ways to teach viewers about our geologic world. Beautiful world-class pieces with many one-of-a-kind of best in the world. Oregonian samples are well represented, but it has much, much more.
They have amazing and impressive materials. Everything is organized well and it's very fascinating. They even have interesting fossils that are not flat. Everything was neat to see and if you felt like it you can also read and learn a lot as well.
Beautiful and interesting displays that kept my young children engaged for 3 hours plus room outside to run off extra energy. Totally worth the drive from Vancouver. Gift shop has items I felt good about buying unlike some other museums. We also had lovely interactions with the staff. This place is a real gem!
Absolutely stunning varieties of rocks, gems, geodes, thunder eggs, petrified, fossils...etc. Great place to take your family. I plan to go back when I have more time to look.
A simply wonderful adventure! For a rock hound, this place is a must!! Perfect for kids, family, or wander on your own through the beautiful wooded grounds. I can't wait to go back!
